So, I have much to catch up on, hang in there with me! This year I got a great Christmas present. I had asked for an iPod Nano and I told Kevin that I would be "really sad" if he didn't get me one. I did this in hopes that a little manipulation would go a long way. Well, anyway Christmas came and no Nano---but look what he got me instead!
If you can't tell, it's an iPhone! I think he is regretting the purchase now because I am always playing with it, loading apps, reading e-mail, using navigator (to find directions to places I probably will never go, but at least I know how to get there!), watching videos, texting, etc. I feel like the coolest kid on the block! I have the greatest redneck app on it, it's called the Whoopie Cushion and it makes fart noises. How cool is that..............
I'm sure this will not be the last time I talk about my phone, but enough for now. Incidentally, there is one drawback---having to be with AT&T as a carrier (I will save you the gruesome details but they are not my favorite right now).
We have a really great neighbor who has season tickets to the Jazz. Him and his family were unable to go last week and he gave us their tickets! No offence to my Iona friends, but this never happened there--I love Rigby. :) None of us have ever been, so we took the kids out of school for a couple of days and went to Utard. (Cori, if you happen to be reading this don't hate me. We did not make it as far south as you are and it was a quick trip!) Anywho, here are some shots from the game.
I wish that I could tell you all the great basketball stars that we saw, but I have no idea who we saw or if they were cool. We had really great seats though, row 16! (Sorry Shaunie, no nose bleed for us--you should move to Rigby too and get out of your mom's basement). We did see the Utah Utes football team, they came to the game. Brian Johnson threw the football at a bulls eye that was up in the crowd and won a trip to the Superbowl for some guy, that was cool.
Since we stayed overnight, we spent most of Wednesday on Temple Square. It was so very nice to be there with the family. If you have not been there recently, they have the neatest display about the family in the North visitor center that you have to see next time you go. We also went to the JS Memorial Building and watched the movie about Joseph Smith. When we left Jacob said, "Don't ever let me see that movie again, I about cried my eyes out!". It was such a good movie and so appropriate as we are studying Church History this year. I think it was very powerful for the kids to watch and really feel the emotion and watch everything the Prophet went through to restore the Gospel.
We also went to the Conference Center and the Church Office Building. We went up to the observation deck at the Church Office Building and took in the view. It reminded me of when I was about Jacob's age and my mom took me to the COB. We had gotten on the elevator to go to the observation deck and President Monson got on the elevator with us, he even shook my hand. Of course this was 30 years ago, and he was not yet the Prophet, but mom told me that one day he would be. Cool huh. The COB has changed now, it is security central and the tour guide said that they rarely see any of the General Authorities. Too bad for our kids......I'm sure Nephi saw this coming along with all the other signs of the times. Anyway, we had a great time and the Spirit was very strong there. If you look closely at the picture of the tree in front of the temple you can see some guys working in it, they were taking down the lights from Christmas--bummer.

Cool phone. Cory just got a Blackberry and he is ALWAYS on it. Kind of drives me nuts, but he loves it. I wish we could drive to Utah in just a few hours. I am a little bit jealous of you right now.

Sweet phone! We went to temple square this summer too. Unfortunately it was late evening and all the visitor centers had closed for the night but it was still really nice walking around temple grounds again it had been years since i'd been there.
Lucky! Don't you love when you ask for something but get something else much better! Your red neck app sounds entertaining! Jacobs comment was too cute about the Joseph Smith movie, we wanted to go see the light in SLC this winter, BUT we didn't make it down there, no excuse either. Glad you had a fun time though!
Cool phone, I'm jealous, especially about the fart noise part!
Umm...Umm... (clearing of the throat) So you were This (fingers close together) Close to me & I didn't get to see my favorist relatives???
Ok I will forgive you this time, But next time I will not be soo nice :) haha!! I'm glad you had a nice time! And did you know that if you lived in "utard" (as you called it) then you would get to do stuff like that ALL the time?? haha!! Sorry I had to tease ;)
If someone had asked me "what application does Renae have on her i-phone" I would have, without any hesitation whatsoever, said "a whoopee cushion that makes fart noises". That's my fun-loving, always crazy friend Renae!
Now you can entertain yourself in nursing leadership meeting. =)
